“I’m a mother. I’m a renter. I’m a straphanger. I’m the daughter of immigrants. I’m a working woman. I’m Queens. I’m a real Democrat, and I will vote with my party.”
Join Jessica and help elect a real Democrat for District 13.
Our subways and buses must run on time. A lifelong straphanger, Jessica lives this MTA crisis along with all of us. The State controls the MTA budget and policies, and we need a strong voice like Jessica’s in Albany to fight for a subway system that actually works.
Jessica will fight to strengthen rent laws and keep apartments affordable. Right now, Albany controls rent laws—not the City of New York. Jessica will fight to give New York City back the power over its rent laws.
New York City public schools—especially those in communities of color like our district—are owed nearly $4 billion dollars in foundation aid by the State of New York. As your state senator, Jessica will fight for the money our schools are owed—and for a school system that works for every child, in every school, in District 13 and across the city.
Small business owners are the backbone of our city’s economy. Yet in the age of chain stores and online shopping, fewer small businesses are able to keep up. Jessica will fight for small business owners, and help small businesses thrive in the face of chain stores that are expanding across our economic corridors.
Our campaign is making calls, knocking on doors, and hosting events to help elect Jessica. Join us and help make the difference.
"As a skilled organizer, especially helping those with housing or immigration issues, Ms. Ramos easily outshines her opponent, Senator Jose Peralta. Mr. Peralta has been in the Legislature for nearly 16 years and was a member of Mr. Klein’s breakaway cabal. He has said he joined the Republican caucus to get more money for immigrants and schools in the district. Ms. Ramos will fight directly for Democratic causes like women’s rights and affordable housing in the city, not beg for leftovers from Republicans."
"Ramos is a long-time community organizer and a strong union advocate. She’s a child of immigrants, and her personal experience spurred her to devote much of her life to fighting for immigrants’ and workers’ rights, as well as racial and economic justice."
